The flight of Bulgaria Air to Rome at 7.35 on 1st of September did not take off. On the night of 31st of August, the flight of the airline to Rome was also delayed. Dozens of passengers are currently waiting at the airport and trying to re-check their tickets. Bulgaria Air told BNT that a technical malfunction in one of the planes was the cause for the flight delays. The flight to Paris is also affected.
Some of the people currently stuck at Sofia Airport may miss their connections with other flights.
At the moment, the passengers are queuing at the front desk of the agency from which they bought their tickets to check the possibilities for rechecking.
One of the passengers told BNT that he had arrived early this morning from Vidin, is travelling to the US and rechecked his ticket for tomorrow.
Late last night there was a similar case with a flight from Madrid, which was supposed to depart at 23.35, but took off this morning at 9.06.
Bulgaria Air airline told BNT that a technical malfunction of one of the planes is the reason for the flight delays to Rome and Madrid. The flight to Paris is also delayed.
The company does not have information how many people are travelling on these flights. They promised to assist people who had missed their connections to be accommodated in a hotel.
