Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov stated in Parliament on 8th of December that no long-term gas transportation document was found among the documents provided to him or was signed between Bulgaria and Russia. Upon presenting an expert report on the infrastructure facility, PM Borisov clarified that there was no complete financial model on the project too.
He remarked that the two documents were directly related to the clarification of the benefits that Bulgaria would have from the construction of the gas pipeline on its territory and added that without those documents there was no way to make an analysis of possible benefits and losses from the cancellation of the gas project.
According to the expert report, the draft for a long term gas transportation agreement proposed by Gazprom does not meet the requirements of the European legislation and contains clauses that are unfafourable for the Bulgarian Energy Holding.
