PM Borissov: In July Bulgaria will enter the Eurozone waiting room

In July, Bulgaria will enter the Eurozone waiting room, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov announced on 21^st of February at a forum dedicated to 25 years since the activities of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bulgaria. Borissov announced that Bulgaria is in an excellent economic form.

In front of the leadership of GERB political party and Konrad Adenauer Foundation, former and current ministers and diplomats, Boyko Borissov pointed out the good political and economic situation of the country and said that Bulgaria strictly complied with the Maastricht criteria for entry into the eurozone.

Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister: This year, we will finish with Gross domestic product to the size of 120 billion BGN. We are waiting for some big investments. Budgets are at surplus, smuggling is below 5%, unemployment below 5%, in fact only those who do not want to work do not work. We import work force. We have huge fiscal reserve, gold reserve, protection of external borders. There is one country which is an example in Europe in terms of defending the external borders and the Schengen area of the EU, and it is called Bulgaria. The migration is only through the official border checkpoints. Everything we do on the Balkan gas hub is co-ordinated, so that there will be no surprises for our decisions. In fact, the continuation of "Turkish Stream" is called "Balkan Gas Hub" and here it becomes "Balkan Stream".

The PM also made a forecast for the forthcoming European Parleiment elections, expecting the populists to fail. In his words, however, regrettably, the world still remains under threat of military conflict.
