Pope Francis will visit Bulgaria May 5-7, 2019, the Press Office of Bulgaria’s Council of Ministers and the President's press Secretariat reported, quoting an official announcement by the Vatican Holy See.
It is written in the press release by the Holy See that accepting the invitation of the respective senior authorities and the Catholic Church His Holiness Pope Francis will make an apostolic journey to Bulgaria 5-7 May, 2019. The Pontiff will visit Sofia and the town of Rakovsky and then travel to the capital city of Macedonia, Skopje.
The schedule of his journey will be duly annunciated.
Both Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov invited Pope Francis to this country during their audiences to the Vatican.
