The gala premiere of the feature film “Plague” took place on January 17. BNT is an official media partner.
Inspired by the short story "Through the Plague" by prominent classic Bulgarian writer Yordan Yovkov (1880-1937), the feature film "Plague" will offer viewers an easy-to-follow storyline that will keep them in suspense from beginning to end.
"The messages are about how Bulgarians cope in difficult situations and the good and terribly bad traits in people’s personalities that in a state of crisis manifest themselves. Even though the film is a period drama about an early 19th century plague epidemic, it seems to be more about us, the modern Bulgarians," said Ivan Vladimirov, director of "Plague".
Among the film's key themes are paternal affection, young love, friendship, betrayal, faith in God, fear and envy - in their eternal dimensions, and all this against the backdrop of the raging terrible disease – the plague.
The film was written by Boyan Biolchev and is on at the cinemas from 19 January.
