As of December 18, prescriptions for medicines will be issued electronically. E-prescriptions are expected to reduce the administrative workload of doctors and to reduce possibilities for mistakes in the work of pharmacists.
Issuance of paper prescriptions will continue b until end of May 2021, parallel to e-prescriptions, because not all doctors and paharmacies have the required software.
The patients who were issued e-prescription will identify themselves in pharmacies with Personal Identity Number. They will have acess to the list of prescribed medicines in a personal electronic dossier.
In addition to e-prescriptions, GPs now can issue electronic referrals as well.
Since the beginning of December, referrals for PCR tests are also issued electronically.
