The ambition of the European Union to achieve a balance between tasks, resources and capabilities of the armed forces in the individual member states was the focus of the meeting of President Rumen Radev with the Chairman of the Military Committee of the European Union General Claudio Graziano.
The two spoke today in the Presidency as part of General Claudio Graziano's visit to Bulgaria, the press office of the head of state announced on April 22.
The modernization and development of the defence capacity of the Bulgarian Armed Forces were discussed at the meeting. President Radev stressed that achieving the EU's defence goals is related both to the acquisition of modern high-tech platforms and to the creation of conditions for high professional training and motivation of personnel.
The Bulgarian head of state also highlighted the role of the country as a factor in establishing stability and security in the region of Southeast Europe.
