President Rumen Radev will hand over a mandate to form a government tomorrow, April 20, at 1 p.m.
GERB stated that they may not nominate a new government if they do not secure a majority. It also remained unclear whether "There is Such a People” party will propose a council of ministers if they receive the second mandate.
President Rumen Radev has begun the Constitutional procedure, the ultimate goal of which is for the 45th National Assembly to elect a government. Today, April 19, he spoke with the leaders of all parliamentary groups, but the consultations did not give a clear answer as to whether this Parliament will elect a government.
GERB confirmed that they will propose a government with Prime Minister Daniel Mitov. However, they do not rule out the possibility of returning the mandate if they realize that they do not have the necessary support.
Whether "There is Such a People" will propose a government, it will become clear when they receive the mandate. They confirmed that they will not form coalitions with the status quo parties.
If a third mandate is reached and it is handed over to the BSP, the socialists said they will convene the party's governing bodies and decide how to proceed.
The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) reminded that they would not support a government of GERB and BSP, they would vote for the government of the three new formations in the Parliament.
“Democratic Bulgaria” will support the cabinet of “There is Such a People”, but after responsible talks.
