There is an increase in the prices of sunflower oil and meat, Vladimir Ivanov - Chairman of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets announced on February 17.
2020 was a bad year and there is a 30% increase in the price of sunflower oil compared to last year. As regards the meat, after the African swine fever, it moved from levels between BGN 6-7 to BGN 9-9.30. These levels have been absolutely stabilized for more than a year. Another issue is that at the moment there is oversupply in Europe as well, Ivanov said.
There is a constant dynamics in prices. This is not a static system that can be fixed, but in general it is the market with the least dynamics compared to the services market. For a ten-year period, the average statistical change is about 7-8%, which against the background of rising incomes and rising costs in the industry, is even negative, Ivanov explained.
The problem with prices of bread is the increase in the income of employees in the industry and it is normal to have some change in the price. It is insignificant compared to what they have as expenses. The price of bread is quite normal, it is natural due to supply and demand. There is no speculation in any case, Vladimir Ivanov commented.
