By the end of the week, 400 beds for severe and moderate cases of coronavirus patients will be opened in "Pirogov" emergency hospital in Sofia. This emerged during a visit by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to the hospital on November 12.

Together with the Minister of Health, Kostadin Angelov, and the director of "Pirogov" hospital, Asen Baltov, the Prime Minister also visited the finished 17-kilometer section of the motorway to Serbia between Dragoman and Slivnitsa.

In "Pirogov", Prime Minister Boyko Borissov inspected the organization for prevention of contact between the flows of covid-19 patients and the rest of the patients. He also visited the new MRI bought with state money, which cost 2.5 million.

Prof. Asen Baltov, director of "Pirogov": By the end of the week, 400 beds for moderate and heavy Covid-19 cases will be opened.

There is no need for new, stricter measures for the time being, the PM announced later during an insoection tour on the newly constructed 17-kilometre long section of Europa Motorway, from Dragoman to Slivnitsa.

Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister: Doctors treat people, they recover and return to production. Everyone healthy must work so that the work processes do not stop.

The state should not stop, according to Borissov.

Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister: We will be the first to come out of the crisis, you will see, the GDP will go up, because we have a nation that, unlike the others, does not only rely on curfews, bans and orders.

Everyone should be self-aware, the PM said.

Borissov, Prime Minister: If you are afraid of a restaurant, do not go there. You can have dinner at home. And if you go to a restaurant, keep physical distance.

Borissov called on doctors to take an individual approach to the sick and healthy who come out of quarantine.

Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister: 16-17 days of treatment and if you put such a person in quarantine once again, and he/she has not worked, but is physically and mentally wondering how to cope, then we will lose people.

The two government helicopters are available for emergencies. Ambulances across the country are also being replaced, he added.

Kostadin Angelov, Minister of Health: More than 150 ambulances have been distributed so far. The remaining 400 will be further delivered.

Borissov discussed the health crisis on the 17 kilometres long new section from Europa Motorway to Serbia, between Dragoman and Slivnitsa, launched ahead of schedule.

Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister: Look at it, it’s a beauty.

Work is also underway on the section near Kalotina.

In the competed section of the motorway, there are 5 underpasses, 5 overpasses, a bridge, 7 recreation areas. The cost is BGN 117 million from the national budget.
