Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s office on 18th of April charged further 7 people over the fatal bus crash near Svoge, in which 20 people died and 8 were injured in August last year.
Charges were pressed against Doncho Atanasov and Svetoslav Glosov from the Road Infrastructure Agency, the executive director of, the road repair company Trace, the technical manager, the asphalt palnt chief and the engineer who was responsible for the construction supervision. 10 inspections and 46 expert assessments were conducted. The accusation indicates that the repair was done poorly. It was found that the technical cause of the crash was significantly reduced adhesion between tyres and asphalt.
Two of the members of the RIA management board were accused of offenses concerning their professional conduct, 5 were accused of a traffic offense committed by the bus driver causing the death of 20 passengers and the resulting average bodily harm to 8 persons.
