There was tension in the Triangle of Power in downtown Sofia over the tighter Covid-19 restrictions. On November 25, protesters tried to enter the building of the Council of Ministers, leading to an argument with the police, throwing fire-work bombs and smoke.
The Ministry of Interior stated that no one was detained during the demonstrations.
Among the organizers of the protest are representatives of Orlov Grad, the mothers from “The System is Killing Us” initiative, ABV party and “Vazrazhdane” movement.
At the time the cabinet was announcing tighter measures to control the spread of COVID-19, the demonstrators outside the building chanted "Resignation".
Tensions escalated after a call for an intrusion in the Council of Ministers building. Some protesters tried to break through the police cordon.
The actions of the Minister of Health were sharply criticized. A signal was also sent to the Prosecutor's office with specified violations of the law.
The protest was also joined by the national figure skating team.
Ina Lutay - coach of the national figure skating team: We just want to be allowed to train, because it is allowed for people over the age of 18. In figure skating, the national team is from 13 to 18. This year is pre-Olympic and quotas are taken accordingly.
The protesters surrounded the entrance of the National Assembly for a short period of time, and the mothers from the "System is Killing Us" walked to the Ministry of Social policy, where they dumped garbage and threw eggs at the building.
The BNT team once again became subject of verbal aggression.
