Bulgaria's modernisation requires transparency of the legislative process and the effective work of the justice system. President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with Jim O'Brien, Head of the Office of Sanctions Coordination at the US State Department on February 13.
During the talks, they discussed the sanctions imposed on Bulgarian citizens as part of the US and UK actions to protect their financial systems.
Head of State Rumen Radev expressed his gratitude for the international support this country receives in the fight against corruption.
The President stressed that our society expects the next National Assembly to make the adoption of anti-corruption legislation a priority, as well as an active partnership and exchange of information between Bulgaria's law enforcement institutions and its allies in the fight against corruption.
Vice President Iliana Iotova, as well as US and UK Ambassadors Herro Mustafa and Rob Dixon, participated in the meeting, which was held at the presidential institution.
