Regional Health Inspectorates are to prepare Covid-19 vaccination list for medical staff by December 10

The heads of the six regional health inspectorates (RHI)in Bulgaria responsible for organising the vaccinations against Covid-19 are required until December 10 to prepare the lists of medical professionals wanting to be vaccinated, Bulgaria’s Health Minister Kostadin Angelov said on December 7 after meeting the RHI heads.

The national vaccination plan adopted by Bulgaria’s Cabinet on December 4 envisages 6 regions in country for the purposes of the vaccination, each having a head in charge of central logistics..

The next tasks for the six regional health inspectorates is to arrange logistics regarding the need for mobile teams and how many.

The Health minister said that he would meet the RHI heads again next Monday to discuss the specifics for each region, because these specifics are different.

He said that the freezers necessary to meet the first deliveries of vaccines were available. All the premises where the freezers would be placed would be adapted. There would be separate small refrigerators for use by the mobile teams, he added.

“It is too early to talk about December 21, provided that the week important for the analysis of the situation starts on December 14,” the minister said in relation to Prime Minister Boyko Borissov’ s comment that the “best anti-crisis measure” would be to be able to re-open everything closed under current measures on December 21. The PM also said that if the number of coronavirus cases continued to drop, the nurseries and kindergartens is possible to re-open on December 14.
