The removal of the emptied tanks of the derailed cargo train in the North-East Bulgarian village of Hitrino began on 14th of December. The last, 12 one, is being drained.
The tanks will be then transferred to a warehouse of the owner, which will take about 4 or 5 days.
Although the risk for the village has significantly dropped, it still remains. However, it is unlikely the residents to return home yet.
On the night of 13th of December, 15 container homes arrived. They will be used to temporarily accommodate the families whose houses were destroyed by the explosion.
The container homes were placed in the nearest village of Timarevo. Each has two rooms, a kitchen and is equipped with everything necessary for living in them. It is not yet decided where the container homes will be placed but the residents hope they will be placed on the land of their properties.
