The Bulgarian Association of Restaurants and the Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria have not participated in today’s negotiations, in which the date of re-opening was discussed, they announced in an official letter to the media on January 26.
Our demands on the topic are clear and unequivocal, and have been announced repeatedly and loudly - opening on February 1, 2021.
Representatives of the hotel industry from the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) were in the meeting with the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov. They have agreed to open the restaurants on March 1 with a capacity of 50% and working hours until 22.30, and for nightclubs the date is March 15, 2021, for which they should bear their responsibility, at least to their members.
We emphasize that BHRA has never stated its support for the protest of the industry, added the two branch organizations of the restaurants.
Our associations categorically state that they do not agree with these re-opning dates and our intention to protest and demand an opening on February 1 remains.
The Association of Restaurants demanded the resignation of Kostadin Angelov
We call on all representatives of the affected businesses to support our protest at 12 o'clock tomorrow (January 27) in front of the Council of Ministers, the statement said.
