The water level of Maritsa river is getting close to the threshold of yellow flood alert in the sections near Plovdiv, Parvomai, Harmanli and Svilengrad in South Bulgaria.
The water levels of Mesta and Struma rivers are also expected to rise after the heavy rain over the weekend. On 11th of October, streets, roads, basements and ground floors in the region of Blagoevgrad, South-West Bulgaria, were flooded.
