Cooperation in the field of innovation and research is key to achieving the connectivity goals in the fields of energy, transport and digitalisation of the Three Seas Initiative, Bulgaria’s head of state, Rumen Radev, said on March 1. He held a meeting with the chairman of the State Agency for Research and Innovation, Martin Danovski.

They discussed the idea of ​​creating a network of innovation agencies and bodies operating in the countries participating in the initiative. According to the President, such an environment of cooperation and exchange of experience could multiply the potential of the countries of the "Three Seas" to plan, secure funding and implement high-tech projects on a larger scale.

At the meeting, it was proposed that the Agency also assist in the identification of key national projects in the field of science, education and innovation, which will be realized within the initiative.

According to the Bulgarian President, the strengthening of this focus of the initiative will motivate Bulgarian young professionals to develop their potential in the country and at the same time contribute to the vision of "Three Seas" for added value and lasting improvement of standard of living in Central and Eastern Europe.
