The project is part of the construction of a gas distribution centre "Balkan" near Provadia, .
The state-owned company Bulgartransgaz has chosen the company to build the gas connection between Bulgaria and Serbia. This was announced in Parliament on 3rd of April during a hearing of Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova.
The gas connection project is considered part of the Balkan gas distribution hub. The pipe is also accepted as the Bulgarian section of the Russian project TurkStream.
Three consortiums were the cndiates to build the section. The Sauidi-Italian consortium "Arkad" was chosen as the winner in the tender. According to the company's offer, the cost of the project will be increased by 4.1% to allow for a rescheduled payment. A financial consultant is to be selected to seek a loan to finance the public procurement.
