An acrobatic aircraft, which took off from Lesnovo airport, crashed in the area of "Pobit Kamak", Western Bulgaria. The pilot died on the spot.

The report was filed at 13.33 on March 8, the Emergency Service told BNT. The ambulance arrived in 10 minutes.

The deceased pilot Georgi Vlaikov was the manager of the training centre "Varna Air Squadron". He was piloting the personal plane "Extra 2000". The aircraft was for aerobatics and had German registration. Vlaikov has been flying since 2011.

He had all the necessary documents for the flight, his license was for aerobatic flights.

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev ordered an immediate investigation into the accident involving a small E200 aircraft 3 km south of Lesnovo airport. The National Accident Investigation Board for air, water and rail transport has also been contacted.

Caretaker Deputy Transport Minister, Nikolai Naydenov, and the Chairman of the National Air, Water and Rail Accident Investigation Board, Hristo Hristov, travelled to the scene of the incident.

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Hristo Alexiev expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased pilot.
