Bulgaria’s government on August 26 adopted a decree to provide for relations with regard of the closure of the State Gambling Commission. It fulfils the obligation of the Council of Ministers, in accordance with the latest amendment to the Gambling Act, namely - the establishment of a liquidation commission and determination of its functions.
It is envisaged that the chair of the liquidation commission will be the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and the members of the liquidation commission will be determined by an order of the Minister of Finance. The functions of the commission for the three-month term of work are set out, as well as the main functions of its chairperson.
The necessary liquidation costs, including remunerations and compensations under the Civil Servant Act and the Labour Code, will be paid through the budget of the National Revenue Agency at the expense of the approved budget of the State Gambling Commission for 2020, based on of documents approved by the chairperson of the liquidation commission.
