Partial state of emergency has been declared in the municipality of Harmanli, South Bulgaria, because a huge wildfire occurred near the village of Cherna Mogila on 3rd of August. The wildfire may pose a potential risk to the village and the residents.
The order for the patrial state of emergency was issued by the Mayor of the municipality. A crisis management team has been set up.
The fire occurred around mid-day on 3rd of August and engulfed 300 decares of deciduous forest in the area of Gergyovden. Fire firefighting teams and representatives of the municipal forestry from Harmanli, Svilengrad and Lyubimets arrived at the place of the outbreak. So far, they have managed to bring the spreading of the fire under control and the immediate danger to the village has been avoided. However, there is readiness for evacuation in the event of unfavorable circumstances.
