Stricter anti-epidemic measures in Bulgaria’s Pamporovo ski resort

Stricter anti-epidemic measures were introduced by the operator of the ski lift facilities in Bulgaria’s Pamporovo winter resort.

Three separate corridors have been imade for tourists to prevent crowding in front of the ski lift stations. Everyone on the lift is required to wear masks. Those who do not have masks are given one free-of-charge.

At the moment there are not many tourists here, it is Monday. We know that the resort is visited by Bulgarians mainly on weekends. But because of the new, more contagious UK variant of the coronavirus, the anti-epidemic measures at the resort have been stepped up.

In Pamporovo, the measures have been observed since the beginning of the season, the resort management noted. But there are times when large number of people gather at the lift stations. Pamporovo has taken additional measures to limit this.

"In all the stations of the ski lifts, as you can see, there are “Covid” corridors, there are “Covid” signs everywhere, “Covid” patrol that distributes masks to those who do not have one," the ski area director, Radoslav Rachkov, said.

There are foreign tourists, although not many. This winter, the resort relies mainly on Bulgarian tourists. They will come again over the weekend.
