Stricter measures against Covid-19 come into force tonight

With an Order № RD-01-677 / 25.11.2020 issued by the Minister of Health from 23.30 pm on Friday, November 27, until December 21, 2020, additional anti-epidemic measures are being introduced in Bulgaria.

Grocery stores provide seniors-only shopping hours for people above the age of 65 between 8.30 am and 10.30 am, the so called. "green corridors".

The following temporary anti-epidemic measures are introduced as of 23.30 pm on 27.11.2020 until 21.12.2020:

• Attended classes (including internships, outsourced classes, exams, dual system of training, etc.) in schools and personal development support centers are suspended. The decision to switch to distance learning in electronic environment is taken by the Minister of Education and Science under the conditions and by the order of art. 105, para. 6 and 115a, para. 1, 4 and 5 of the Preschool and School Education Act;
• The holding of group extracurricular activities and activities of interest and others, organised in school and extracurricular environment for all age groups, shall be suspended;
• The in-person attendance learning process in universities is suspended. Only the state final examinations for acquiring a specialty in the healthcare system are allowed, in strict compliance with the measures for prevention and control of infections;
• The in-person attendance group classes in language centers, educational centers and other training centers and schools, organized by legal entities and individuals, shall be suspended;
• Attendance at kindergartens and nurseries, as well as at children's centers, clubs and others providing organized group services for children are suspended;
• Holding of congress-conference events, seminars, competitions, trainings, team building, exhibitions and other public events with in-person attendance are suspended;
• The holding of all cultural and entertainment events (cinemas, museums, galleries, stage events, concerts, classes in dance, creative and musical arts, etc.) is suspended. An exception is allowed with regard to the theatres, given the seats are occupied up to 30% of their total capacity, observance of a physical distance of at least 1.5 m and obligatory wearing of protective face masks;
• It is not allowed to organise and hold gatherings and celebrations of a private nature (weddings, baptisms, funerals, etc.) with the presence of more than 15 people;
• All group and individual sports events of a training and competitive nature for persons under 18 years of age are suspended, with the exception of international sports competitions, which have started as at the date of entry into force of the order. All sports events of a training and competitive nature for persons over 18 years of age and international sports competitions for persons under 18 years of age are held without an audience;.
• Visits to fitness centres and halls for group activities to them are suspended;
• The visits in all establishments for food and entertainment in the sense of art. 124 of the Tourism Act are suspended. Only deliveries or meals to homes and office are allowed;
• Visits to gambling halls and casinos are suspended;
• Visits to shopping centres (representing one or more buildings in which shops, restaurants and other commercial sites are located) and shopping malls, shall be suspended, except for grocery stores, medical establishments, pharmacies, drugstores, opticians, pet stores, banks, insurers, payment service providers, telecommunications operators' offices and other communications service providers in them;
• Group tourist trips (excursions) with organized transport in the country and abroad and group visits to tourist sites in the country shall be suspended;
• All individuals and legal entities, who own or manage commercial, administrative or other sites, which provide services to the members of the public and which activity is not suspended by this order, shall establish an organization for control of the number of clients in the respective site, not allow more than 1 person per 3 sq. m;
• In all markets, marketplaces and bazaars an organization for one-way traffic and ensuring a distance of at least 1.5 m between the visitors shall be established. Workers and visitors are required to wear a face mask;
• Employers and recruitment bodies to organize the work process of employees in remote form (teleworking / work from home), where possible, allowing the in-person attendance work of a maximum of 50% of the staff;
• Food shops organise their work so that persons under the age of 65 are no allowed between 8.30 and 10.30 in order to provide seniors only shopping hours for the people aged 65 and over;
• Scheduled non-emergency admissions and surgical procedures in hospitals and cancer centres are suspended, except the activities related to transplantation of organs, tissues and cells, diagnosis and treatment of patients with oncological and oncohematological diseases, assisted reproduction activities and births.
• Hospitals close to visitors. Only visits to terminally ill will be allowed;
• Parks remain open;
• Churches, mosques and cinangogues also remain open to the public.
