The district Prosecutor’s Office in the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Varna submitted a request to the court demanding a 46 year-old Syrian citizen to be kept in custody, the Prosecutor’s press office said on 6th of October. The man is wanted under a European arrest warrant issued by the authorities in Germany. The allegations are for trafficking of people.
According to the prosecution, the Syrian national, who is residing in Bulgaria, got connected with refugees from the refugee centres in Bulgaria and organized their transportation to Germany. He was detained by the Bulgarian police on 3rd of October.
The court is to decide the supervision measure for the Syrian citizen, which will be followed by the procedure for transferring him to Germany.
