The salaries of teachers in Bulgaria will be increased by 15% as of 1st of September, the Minister of Education Krassimir Vulchev said on 9th of August. The aim is to better motivate the teachers, as well as pedagogy students who would replace the teachers who retire.
Another decision taken by the ministers refers to granting scholarships to students from the so-called Historical Bulgarian diasporas and to increase them from 150 to 200 BGN. This is the second relieving step for them after this year's threshold for student numbers that can be accepted from these countries was abolished.
There is also a public discussion on the standardised setting of wages in a system of education, according to which the minimum wage from 1 September will be 760 BGN.
