Covid-19 vaccines have already arrived in Bulgaria. They will be rolled out when approved by the European Medicines Agency.

Due to the more optimistic data on the daily cases, some measures are likely to be eased, the first of which would be the opening of kindergartens on December 14. According to the preliminary schedule for vaccination, the frontline medical workers will be the first to get Covid-19 vaccine.

The lists of doctors wishing to be vaccinated should be ready by Thursday

The refrigerators for storage of the supply of vaccines in this country are available, the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov, said on December 7 after a meeting with the directors of the Regional Health Inspectorates (RHI) from the six regions and the director of the National Vaccination Task Force, Prof. Krassimir Gigov.

The rest of the freezers will be delivered early next year, the minister added.

In order to have a strict organization for the supply and distribution of vaccines throughout the country, it was divided into 6 regions. One RHI director will be in charge of each region and will organize the logistics.

Next week there will be a meeting to discuss all the specifics in the respective regions, because according to the Minister of Health, each district has characteristics that are different.

The lists of medics and pharmacists from the first phase who want to be vaccinated against Covid -19 should be ready in the 6 regions of the countr by Thursday.

Vaccine storage freezers will be available in all RHIs.

Prof. Kostadin Angelov - Minister of Health: Separate small refrigerators to store the vaccine will be available in the mobile teams and respectively in the places where the vaccines will be injected. The surgeries of GPs, medical institutions will also have such refrigerators.

There will also be refrigerators in the doctors' offices in the schools. In the BNT breakfast show, "The day begins", the vice-president of the Bulgarian Medical Union (BMU), Dr. Nikolai Branzalov, said that doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, emergency medical workers will be asked if they want to be immunized against COVID-19.

The first batch of vaccines is already in the country, Branzalov said.

Each immunized person will receive a certificate in Bulgarian and English.
