The specialized criminal court on 16th of May ruled for one year of imprisonment with a 3-year probation period for the Mayor of Rodopi Yordan Shishkov.
He was found guilty of having failed to take sufficient care of the municipal property entrusted to him on 29 October 2010 and 17 January 2011 under the conditions of a continuous crime, resulting in damages of a total of 459 654,57 BGN. As an official, he concluded two agreements on performance of municipal contracts with "Integrated Road Systems" AD - Sofia, according to which penalties were provided for any delayed payment by the municipality (from 0.2 to 10% of the overdue amount). These penalties were not included in the initial contracts, but the municipality paid BGN 148 472.57 and BGN 311 182 respectively as a result of the mayor's signatures.
