The new Minister of Finance replaced the Head of the Bulgarian Customs Agency

The caretaker Minister of Finance, Lyudmila Petkova, on April 9, gave a news briefing at which she presented the management of the revenue agencies.

"I have appointed Georgi Dimov, former Deputy Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency (NRA), as Director of the Customs Agency. The main task is to transfer good experience and practices to the Customs Agency from the NRA," Petkova said.

"The collection of budget revenues is of great importance for good governance of the state and protection of its fiscal interests," she added.

She explained that no redundancies were foreseen in the two revenue agencies.

The fiscal reserve stands at 6 billion 689 million BGN, according to the central bank’s data. It was noted that as at March 29,it was BGN 9.9 billion.
