The situation in North-East Bulgaria on 11th of January is getting back to normal. All motorways are open for traffic, including the section of Hemus motorway between Varna and Shumen and the road to Suvorovo municipality, which was in a state of emergency in the previous cold weather period.
The roads get cleaned regularly, there are no problems with the snow ploughing machines.
Ten cars were pulled out of the snow on the roads in Varna district.
Five villages in the area are still without electricity. The power supply in the village of Golitsa has been restored.
Military equipment is taking part in the snow removal from the roads.
The main boulevards in Varna have been cleaned. Varna –Vinitsa road and the lakeside road which connects the city with Devnya are now open for traffic.
For the first time in a long time, the salty waters of Varna Lake froze this morning.
The situation remains complicated in the South-eastern Bulgarian district of Bourgas. The access to the coastal city is still through the detour route via Elhovo – Sredets and Bolyarovo. Most difficult is the situation in Dolni Chiflik.
