Torrential rains cause road closures in South Bulgarian region of Ivaylovgrad

Code orange for heavy rain was declared for the South Bulgarian district of Haskovo on January 12.

It has been raining for 24 hours. Floodings caused road closures in the area of Ivailovgrad.

The Byala river has overflowed in the area of the village of Gugutka. The road to Meden Buk village is temporarily closed to traffic, because the water flooded a bridge. The road to Boturche village is also closed.

The first floor of a school building in the village of Mandritsa has been flooded.the situation is calm is in the rest of the villages from Ivaylovgrad municipality.

The road to the village of Dinevo is temporarily closedas a prevention. Only emergencies are allowed. No one is stranded.

The quality of the drinking water has deteriorated as a result of the heavy rains.

Water supply from pumping stations in Topolovgrad, the villages of Kapitan Petko and Oreshnik has been suspended. Water is provided for the rresidents from existing reserves. The supply will be restored after the quality of the water improves.
