Code orange for heavy rain was declared for the South Bulgarian district of Haskovo on January 12.

The Byala river has overflowed in the area of the village of Gugutka. The road to Meden Buk village is temporarily closed to traffic, because the water flooded a bridge. The road to Boturche village is also closed.

The quality of the drinking water has deteriorated as a result of the heavy rains.
Water supply from pumping stations in Topolovgrad, the villages of Kapitan Petko and Oreshnik has been suspended. Water is provided for the rresidents from existing reserves. The supply will be restored after the quality of the water improves.
