Traffic of lorries weighing more than 12 tonnes be limited between 16:00 and 20:00 on 1st of March on motorways and busiest roads in Bulgaria to ease traffic on the eve of the holiday weekend.
The aim is to increase the safety and the capacity of the infrastructure, announced the Road Infrastructure Agency on 28th of February.
The temporary ban on the traffic of lorries will apply to all motorways as well as to:
road I-1 Rebarkovo - Botevgrad, the traffic is redirected to road II-16 Rebarkovo - Svoge – Sofia ring road in the direction to Sofia;
I-1 road - from Blagoevgrad to Kulata border checkpoint;
I-4 Koritna - Veliko Tarnovo - Shumen;
road I-5 Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo;
road I-8 "Kalotina" border crossing - Sofia;
I-9 road Varna - Bourgas;
road II-18 Sofia Ring Road;
road II-99 Burgas - Tsarevo.
Trafic of heavy goods vehicles will also be temporarily stopped on the last day of the holiday wweekend, 4 March (Monday) from 2 pm to 8 pm.
To facilitate traffic through Vladaya and increase road safety on March 4, during the daylight hours, there will be two lanes for entering Sofia on road I-1 (E-79). The temporary organization is from km 278 + 910 to 282 + 038 and from road junction "Daskalovo" to junction "Dragichevo". This way, drivers arriving in the capital will be able to travel more comfortably and safely. An alternative route to the first-class road through Vladaya is Lyulin Motorway.
