The traffic flow at Danube Bridge Border crossing point is getting back to normal on 25th of August, Border Police from Rousse said. The line of lorries on the Bulgarian side is now 2 km long and about 80 TIR lorries are waiting in the queue.
Traffic is more congested on the Romanian side. Border authorities anticipate that the traffic flow will return to normal by the evening or tomorrow at the latest.
Drivers say the biggest problem for them is that 8 hour working day expires while waiting in the queue at the Danube bridge.
On 24th of August, lines of vehicles stretching to 10 km were formed on both Bulgarian and Romanian side of Danube bridge crossing. The cause for the congestion is the ongoing repair works on one of the lanes on Romanian side, as well as the busier traffic in the recent days.
