The section between Zimnitsa and Karnobat on Trakiya motorway was opened for traffic on 12th of January. It was previously closed because of the heavy snowfall and drifts.
Restrictions remain in place for the traffic on the road between Karnobat and Bourgas, BNT reporter Tihomir Ignatov said.
160 snow ploughing machines are operating to remove snow from major roads and make them passable in winter conditions. Currently, snow removal equipment is cleaning narrow streets in the city of Bourgas.
There are delays in the train services.
Some passenger trains services in the South-Eastern Bulgarian district of Bourgas have been temporarily suspended. Locomotives are being repaired. Only fast trains are running. The timetable is changed to add extra stops on the routes and accommodate anticipated rideship. The train schedule will remain reduced until all technical problems are removed and weather conditions improve.
There are no villages without power or water supply in Bourgas district. The situation is getting back to normal. The snow cover is 20 cm.
