The UN General Assembly will held a public hearing of Kristalina Georgieva, Bulgaria’s new candidate for the post of UN Secretary-General, on Monday, 3rd of October, Peter Thomson, president of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, said.
He specified that the hearing would start at 20:00 Bulgarian time. The new Bulgarian candidate will enjoy the same treatment in the hearing as the other candidates.
Irina Bokova, the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), would remain in the race, the New Zeland’s diplomat Gerard van Bohemen said on 28th of September.
The situation with Bulgaria’s new candidacy was discussed at a closed meeting of the Security Council.
Irina Bokova will continue to participate in the race as an individual.
