UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres congratulated Bulgaria on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of its membership in the organization.
Bulgaria joined the United Nations on December 14, 1955.

"I count on Bulgaria, as a member of the Alliance for Multilateralism, to promote the global cooperation and solidarity that are so necessary and urgent now," the UN Secretary-General added.
According to him, today our world is facing many complex challenges including conflicts, some of which on European territory; climate crisis; growing inequalities and a pandemic that has claimed more than a million lives and caused widespread economic damage.
