The earthquake that shook Romania’s Vrancea in the early hours on 28th of December, was felt in the Northern Bulgarian city of Rousse. According to data of the seismological services of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences the magnitude of the earthquake in Vrancea was 5.6 on Richter scale.
Many people who live on upper floors of the buildings in Rousse said they felt the earthquake. They say the quake went on for about a minute and was followed by aftershocks. Many residents in the cities of Silistra, Shumen, Dobrich and Sliven said they were woken up by the earthquake.
The earthquake has not caused damages on the infrastructure and residential buildings in the city. It was of the same magnitude as the one in September 2016, said the head of Directorate “Public Order and Security” in Rousse, Spasimir Dimitrov.
