Motorists are required to obligatory change from summer to winter tyres as of 15th of November, Bulgaria's Trafic polce reminds.
BGN 50 is the fine for driving with summer tyres or tyres with a tread depth of less than 4 mm. Checks by the Traffic Police started this morning and will go on until March 1, 2019.
Apart from the type and condition of the tyres, the police will be also checking the vehicle's light system, the wipers and the windscreen cleaner.
