An influenza epidemic has been declared in Yambol district from 30 January to 5 February inclusive. The number of sick people in the district is now 348 per 10,000.
The morbidity rate has passed the epidemic threshold of 339 per 10,000 people. School classes will not be suspended and will continue in attendance. Students' temperature will be taken upon entering school and masks in class are mandatory.
Elective consultations for children and healthy pregnant women, routine medical checkups and compulsory immunisation and reimmunisation procedures have will be suspended. Visits to health and social care facilities are prohibited, and wearing masks is compulsory.
Strict filtering and increased disinfection of premises is introduced in childcare and educational establishments. On 5 February, the Regional Operational Headquarters will meet again and it will be decided then whether the influenza epidemic should be extended or not.
