A new party, Yes Bulgaria Movement, was founded on 7th of January. Hristo Ivanov is its Chairman. Nearly 1,500 people gathered for the founding event.
Addressing the meeting, Ivanov said the main cause of the new party would be to fight against corruption.
Hristo Ivanov explained that the new party will draw up a list of all uninvestigated corruption deals and in the country and if one day the party entered parliament, it would initiate a serious investigation of the schemes.
In his speech, Ivanov said that the "Yes, Bulgaria" political objectives are three: ensuring rule of law and effective justice; accelerating the pace of development of the country; and combating poverty and improving standard of living.
Ivanov was Justice Minister of Boyko Borissov's cabinet until December 2015 when he resigned after Parliament’s approval of one of the texts on the constitutional amendments, which concerned the quota distribution of the Supreme Judicial Council and the last minute changes made to that text at the proposal of ABV party, a junior coalition partner in the ruling government.
