“For the first time in my life, I did not vote for the political elite, but against it.” This was stated by Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov after after voting in Sunday's presidential runoff in Varna.
“Today, for the first time in my life, I voted not for someone, but against. And, to be honest, this is something that should make all of us involved in politics think very seriously. Because what actually happened in the first round and now in the second round is that, by refusing to debate with one another, some of the political forces effectively discouraged a large number of people from going out to vote. I voted because I believe we must set a personal example, and I am prepared to take on that responsibility. But the truth is that a large part of the Bulgarian political elite has, through its policies, effectively ruined democracy in Bulgaria,” Kostadinov said.
