Up to 200 megawatt hours of baseload electricity by 31 March 2022, produced in Bulgaria, and additional quantities of natural gas for Skopje. On these two points the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and North Macedonia - Galab Donev and Dimitar Kovacevski held talks in the Council of Ministers.
From Wednesday a working group between the ministries of economy and energy will specify at what price and under what technical parameters this will be possible. Bulgaria will help North Macedonia with the possibility to keep natural gas storage capacity in the gas storage facility in Chiren, explained Galab Donev, as well as additional capacity will be built for the transmission of natural and liquefied natural gas to our south-western neighbor.
Dimitar Kovatcevski pointed out that Bulgaria has electricity from the nuclear plant that could be exported to them. Opportunities will also be sought for Skopje to receive quantities of liquefied gas and to actively participate in the operation of the Alexandroupolis terminal.
