Asian Culture Festival "Asia from a Close-Up" will start at 10.00 on 2nd of July Sunday in Borisova Garden in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia, the organisers announced on 23rd of June.

13 countries with representative offices in Bulgaria will present their traditions to the Bulgarian public. Visitors will get acquainted with typical Asian culture dances, music, art, cuisine. Those who wish will have the opportunity to engage in more than 30 different activities through which they will experience the magic of Asian culture.

The ambassadors from the participating countries - Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Iran, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea and Japan - will announce the start of the festival. Each country has prepared a programme that will involve its representatives. Guests can also buy raffle tickets, with a grand prize of 2 tickets to a destination in Asia.

The funds raised will be donated to charity by the International Women's Club (IWC), partner of the Asian Festival.

The arts that Sofia residents and guests will have the opportunity to enjoy include folk dances and musical performances in traditional Asian costumes. There will be cooking demonstrations from which visitors will be able to learn interesting details about the preparation of exotic meals and the characteristics of each country’s cuisine.

For the children there will be different games and entertainment in "Asian style". Dedicated workshops will offer calligraphy lessons.

Travel fans will be able to add to their dream destinations list as they will be acquainted with videos and information about the most beautiful places on the exotic continent.

The first Asian festival in Bulgaria is organized with the support of the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Ministry of Tourism and Sofia Municipality.
