The Bulgarian government approved additional 20 million BGN (10.23 million euro) for the building of the temporary border control facility at Bulgaria’s border with Turkey, the government’s press office said on 19th of October.
The funds will be provided to the regional administrations in Bourgas, Haskovo and Yambol to continue the construction of the temporary fence. The facility is crucial to counter the migration pressure that has increased in the recent years at the Bulgarian-Turkish border and aims at protecting the state border and control of the refugee wave, the government statement said.
The funds are provided through restructuring costs in the national budget.
