Scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Bulgarian Agriculture Academy launched protests in Sofia on the Day of the National Revival Leaders, 1st of November. They insist that the state budget for 2017 allot more funds for science and for decent salaries.
The scientists ask for an extra 12 million BGN (6 million euro) to the budget of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for 2017. However, the government has envisaged to provide only 5 million BGN (2,5 million euro) additionally, which will cover the difference after the increase of the minimum wage.
