Young Bulgarian mathematicians won a total of 23 medals at the International Maths Competition in India. They brought home 4 gold medals. Some of the Bulgarian students arrived at Sofia airport on 1st of August.
The largest number of medals, 12, were won by students from Sofia High School of Mathematics, which participated in the competition with two teams in different age groups and all brought medals home. Ivan alexander Mavrov, from 10th grade, won a gold medal.
The competing teams were more than 40. Sofia High School of Mathematics has bronze medals in the team ranking. In the group competition where the individual results are ranked, they are absolute champions.
The students from Varna High School of Mathematics won one gold and 2 bronze medals.
Gold medal was won by Angel Raichev from the 125th school in Sofia. He gathered the most points among the 220 participants.
The school won a silver medal at the competition. More medals – a gold and a silver, were brought home by the students from the First Private High School of Mathematics. Student from Bourgas School of Mathematics have won three silver and a bronze medal.
