More than 120 world leaders, including Bulgaria's caretaker Prime Minister, Stefan Yanev, on November 1 arrived in Glasgow for the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference.

The participation of Bulgaria’s caretaker PM will emphasize the efforts that Bulgaria is making to achieve a smooth and fair green transition, the Council of Ministers announced. Measures to limit global warming and reduce emissions will be discussed at the 12-day forum.

The meeting was opened by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has made an unconventional comparison, calling for an end to teating nature as a toilet.

A new IMF report shows that in order to limit warming to to 1.5˚C, there is an urgent need to reduce emissions by 55 percent by 2030.

“The six years since the Paris Climate Agreement have been the six hottest years on record. Our addiction to fossil fuels is pushing humanity to the brink. We face a stark choice. Either we stop it - or it stops us” It’s time to say: enough. Enough of brutalizing biodiversity. Enough of killing ourselves with carbon. Enough of treating nature like a toilet, “ Antonio Guterres said in his opening message.
