The caretaker cabinet decided on 8th of February to replace governors of 14 Bulgarian districts: Blagoevgrad, Varna, Vratsa, Kardhzali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Silistra, Sofia – district, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, Yambol and Veliko Turnovo.
The acting district governor of Sofia-city has also been replaced. The reason for the replacements almost in the whole country is a review of the work and reported wrongdoings, the government press office said. A priority of the caretaker government is organizing fair and impartial elections and changes were made where there were doubts about that, the government press office explained.
