Admission of patients in hospitals through the fingerprint recognition technology has been temporarily stopped because of a crash in the system, Bulgaria’s National Health Insurance Fund said on 3rd of November.
The fingerprint recognition system is temporarily inaccessible and patients are admitted for treatment through showing their personal ID cards. The system stopped working on the night of 2nd of November as a result of the large number of hospitalizations and the enormous amount of information that had to be processed.
The fingerprint recognition system for admission to hospitals came into force 2 days ago, on 1st of November.
