For a second consecutive year, Festival of Italian Cinema is taking place in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.
For a second consecutive year, Festival of Italian Cinema is taking place in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.
It will run until 23rd of June and lovers of Italian films will have the opportunity to see 8 films.
The festival begins with "The Big Dream", a biographical film about the famous actor and director Michele Placido. The focus in this year's edition is the picturesque Puglia area, and the main goal is to promote cultural exchange between Italy and Bulgaria.
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the festival of the Bulgarian cinema in Rome.
"I greet the Bulgarian audience, which has always treated me well," actor Michele Placido said before the festival.
Marko Montecchi, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce: “ And we would like to continue and we will soon celebrate our 10th anniversary.”
Roumen Dimitrov, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Culture said it was a great joy for Bulgarian filmmakers to have the opportunity to be in touch with high-quality, contemporary, Italian cinema.
